Basic First Aid
Basic First Aid help students develop basic first aid knowledge, skills, and the confidence to respond.
The program is an excellent choice for both the community and workplace setting , and is consistent with recommendations of the 2015 National First Aid Science Advisory Board and OSHA’s best practices for first aid training programs in the workplace.
For individuals who require or desire elementary first aid knowledge and skills with a focus on adults, children, or both; including:
Emergency response teams in business and industry
School bus drivers
Adult residential care personnel
Child care workers
Teachers Parents Babysitters.
CPR and AED
for the Community
CPR and AED is designed specifically for laypeople. The program is an excellent choice for both the community and workplace setting, and is based upon the 2010 International Consensus on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) Science with Treatment Recommendations (CoSTR) and other evidence-based treatment recommendations.
Intended Audience: Individuals who do not work in the healthcare field but are occupationally required to, or desire to, have CPR knowledge and skills, such as: Emergency response teams in business and industry School bus drivers Adult residential care personnel Child care workers Teachers Parents Babysitters
Combo (CPR, AED, BFA)
ASHI CPR, AED, and Basic First Aid combination training was created to allow Instructors an easy option for their students seeking a comprehensive training class. The program helps develop basic first aid knowledge, skills, and the confidence to respond. CPR, AED, and Basic First Aid combination training
is an excellent choice for both the community and workplace setting, and is consistent with recommendations of the 2015 National First Aid Science Advisory Board and OSHA’s best practices for first aid training programs in the workplace.
Please note: There is no combined Instructor package. To teach the combined program, use CPR/AED INSTRUCTOR PACKAGE and BASIC FIRST AID INSTRUCTOR PACKAGE (separate items).
CPR Pro for the Professional Rescuer program is designed for individuals in the healthcare or professional rescuer field that are required to have a professional-level basic life support training. Students learn how to recognize a life-threatening emergency, how to provide basic life support and what to do in case of an airway obstruction or choking.
ASHI's CPR Pro for the Professional Rescuer has been approved for training for Emergency Medical Services personnel and is accepted by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT).
ASHI's Bloodborne Pathogens program includes information that will help students understand what bloodborne pathogens
are and how risks of exposure can be reduced for themselves
and others. The program assists in satisfying the training requirements of the U.S. Department of Labor, OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Standard.
Individuals with a reasonable anticipation of contact with blood
or other potentially infectious materials as a result of performing designated job duties.
Please note: BBP certification is valid for 1 year from date of class.
Pediatric Combined CPR, AED & BFA
ASHI Pediatric CPR, AED, and First Aid training program provides an ideal training solution for schools, child care providers, youth sports coaches, and others required to learn how to respond to medical emergencies involving children. This versatile program
is based upon the 2010 CPR and First Aid Guidelines, Caring
for Our Children, 3rd Ed; and other evidence-based treatment recommendations.
The intended audience for ASHI Pediatric are individuals who desire or are required to be certified in Pediatric First Aid, CPR, and AED.
Child and Babysitting Safety
The Child & Babysitting Safety (CABS) program stresses the priority to keep you and the children you care for safe. Babysitting is not just “watching” the children, but being responsible for their safety and well being.

Advanced First Aid
*NEW* Advanced First Aid for Non-EMS Personnel is not just another first aid course. It is designed for working professionals, this flexible program blends textbook and instructor-led hands-on training events. Carefully designed skill sheets assist students in developing the competency necessary to perform each skill with accuracy and confidence.
Advanced First Aid is designed for the person who needs or desires more first aid training than Basic First Aid, but not to the level of Emergency Medical Response. Perfect for corporate emergency response teams, this 17-21 hour course presents many of the most common illnesses and injuries responders are likely to encounter.
Emergency Medical Response
Emergency Medical Response For Non EMS Personnel
(formally First Responder) is designed to provide non-EMS responders including government, corporate, law enforcement, and corrections personnel with a level of training comparable to Emergency Medical Responder. This 48-hour course is consistent with national EMS curriculum requirements and educations standards. It is not the intent of the ASHI Emergency Medical Response program to cross the EMS scope of practice threshold.

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
ASHI's Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) program was created to train emergency personnel to recognize cardiopulmonary emergencies (including cardiac arrest and peri-arrest conditions) and other medical conditions that require rapid initial emergency care. Program covers the initial actions of an emergency response team, evaluating airway management, dysrhythmia recognition, electrical interventions, and pharmacologic interventions.
ASHI ACLS is intended for emergency personnel in intensive care or critical care departments and emergency medical providers.
Continuing Educations Hours (CEH) for EMS professionals are available for ASHI ALCS from Health & Safety Institute (HSI), a Continuing Education Coordinating Board for Emergency Medical Services (CECBEMS) Accredited Organization.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
ASHI PALS program is intended for emergency personnel in intensive care or critical care departments and emergency medical providers responsible for the well-being of infants and children. The overall goal of the PALS Course is to provide healthcare professionals with didactic and psychomotor skills training in the recognition and treatment of conditions that may lead to cardiopulmonary arrest in an infant or child.
Continuing Educations Hours (CEH) for EMS professionals are available for ASHI PALS from Health & Safety Institute (HSI), a Continuing Education Coordinating Board for Emergency Medical Services (CECBEMS) Accredited Organization.
Wilderness First Aid
Wilderness First Aid: Wilderness environments create special situations not usually encountered in an urban or suburban environment. With ASHI’s Wilderness First Aid, Instructors certified to teach CPR/AED, basic first aid, and have wilderness experience can take advantage of ASHI’s flexible instructional design.
This comprehensive 16-20 hour course meets the Boy Scouts of America Wilderness First Aid curriculum and guidelines.
