About

Classic art presented a world of harmony and decorum, where reason prevails over the dark forces of the unknown.  Romantic artists were fascinated by the three great irrationals:  fear, sex and death.  In this film series, Lord Kenneth Clark analyzes the personalities of the period's leading artists, and examines the character of their work.
